Italian Day at Priors Field

The children have enjoyed learning about Italian language and culture. They have learnt about Christmas customs and traditions in Italy. We have had very special guests, Mr & Mrs Graziosi, who came to our assembly this morning. Mrs Graziosi and Mrs Cain read 'Goldilocks and the three Bears/ Riccioli D' Oro e i tre orsi' in both English and Italian languages. Mrs Graziosi also read 'The Gingerbread man' later for Year 1 and Mr Graziosi taught Year 5 . All children have learnt Italian greetings, numbers to 10 and family members in their classes followed by Spaghetti Marshmallow challenge. They all had to construct a tower as high as possible using only spaghetti and masking tape. The marshmallow must be placed on the top of the tower. The tallest tower still standing unassisted wins. All children really enjoyed this challenge and came up with some brilliant ideas. The winners will be announced on Monday. Thank you very much for everyone who took part in our Italian Day especially Mr & Mrs Graziosi, Oliviero and Costa for bringing in Italian desserts to share with us. Grazie mille, Mrs Cain
