We have held our annual BioBlitz, led by Matt Cox. The whole school spent the day learning about our school environment and researching the variety of animals and plants in our school grounds. Each class spent time in the Environmental Area, exploring a different focus of the environment. Reception looked at small mammals and saw a vole, Years 1 and 2 identified lots of minibeasts, Year 3 went large mammal spotting and found signs of deer and badgers, Year 4 identified trees in the area, Year 5 did a grassland survey and learnt about bees and Year 6 went stream dipping.  A great day was had by all and Matt commented on how enthusiastic all the children were about finding out about their surroundings.
